The owners of the properties listed on this site are supportive of the idea that kids will be kids and there are rites of passage that every teenager engages in at some point.

They welcome trespassing, climbing up on roofs, and generally just hanging out, within the restrictions that are part of each listing.

In general, you can be confident that no matter the hour, the property owner will not call the police on you, post or share surveillance camera footage, or press charges against you for the activities you engage in while on their property.

These are the “safe spaces” in town where you can run wild and free, without worrying that some grumpy old man is going to get you busted and ruin your future.

IMPORTANT: Be aware that any properties not listed here should be considered “high risk” and trespassing there could result in criminal or civil penalties against you and/or your legal guardian(s).

• Adults shouldn’t press charges against minors or do anything that might jeopardize their futures, even if what they are doing is illegal and/or dangerous

then here is your chance to let the minors of Montclair know that your property is available to them without fear of police engagement or humiliation on social media.

To get started, simply email listings@climbmontclair.org to create your listing.

Required information:

• Your name
• The address of the property you wish to register
• A photo of the front of your Montclair property tax, water, or sewer bill showing your name and the same address you are registering (to verify that you are, indeed, the property owner)
• An emergency contact phone number to include on your listing in case a minor is injured while on your property
• Also include any restrictions on time or activities, such as “no smoking” or “no climbing onto the roof between 4 and 6 am”

We will respond with a liability waiver that must be signed and returned to us. Once all of the paperwork is completed, we will list your property here and on various social media channels to get the word out.
